Dewy Glow

Don’t we all wish we could look like those airbrushed models in the Chanel make-up ads or better yet have Jennifer Lopez’s constant dewy glow?

Well, when rummaging through the MAC store I came across a lovely lady who promised me just that.  She recommended the cream blush, Hush, which has become my new favorite product these days.

After you apply your normal make-up you add a little bit of this shimmery cream to the apples of your cheeks (just below your eyes).  **Be sure to blend it into the rest of your make-up so it serves as an enhancer to your blush/bronzer/foundation!

A few other pointers:
·        Add a light layer above your lip line to enhance your pout.
·        Adding a light layer on your brow bone helps open up your eyes

Try it out and let me know what you think!

To Leopard Heels and Wild Nights

I love shoes.  I know I know all women love shoes.
But, I have decided it’s shoes that reallllly do it for me. A new bag is always fun, a sexy dress can always make me smile, but new shoes--those are my kryptonite.

I’ve been in the market for a new “fun” pair of shoes.  Shoes that can change an average night into a night you never forget (or can’t remember, which ever you prefer!)
After reading blog after blog one Sunday I came across these--  http://www.stevemadden.com/Item.aspx?id=57660&np=687_731
I knew I had to have them!

To my surprise they were even cuter in person!  They fit low enough on the ankle that they don’t cut off my not-so long legs and are uber comfortable to top it off.
There is something so sexy and daring about leopard.  Once you slip them on you instantly feel that skip in your step.
So here is to a wild night out in my (drum roll please)…. NEW. SUEDE.SHOES!

WARBY PARKER- $95 for glasses, what?!

Getting mail (in the actual mail box) used to have so much more appeal as a child.   The monthly arrival of Highlights magazine was so much more fun than the monthly arrival of my credit card bill.  SIGH*
Cut to last week when I opened my Warby Parker “At-home Try-on” package.  --Instant flash backs of my childhood days!

Above: At-home Try On Box

Warby Parker is a vintage-inspired glasses company (sunglasses and prescription eye glasses) that cuts out the middle man. Thus, ALL glasses are $95.  No more, no less.

They also offer an “At-Home Try-On,” where you select your frames (5 max) to try on at home.    They put $1 hold on your credit card and 2-5 days later you have 5 pairs of glasses at your doorstep to try on.   FREE OF CHARGE!

(Not to mention, they have a similar business model to that of TOMS Shoe Company;    For every pair of glasses they sell they will give a pair to someone in need.  How great is that?!)
Above: Webb in Amber

I chose the Webb in Amber as I have a pretty small face but still
wanted a bold frame – this one did the trick http://www.warbyparker.com/   I received them last week in their adorable case and cannot get enough of them!

Thank you Mr. Warby Parker.  Me, myself, and my eyes are thoroughly satisfied!

(I'll update this post with a pic of me in my glasses later on)

Big Jet Plane

I'm really into this duo right now, Angus and Julia Stone.  I first heard them on http://Paperbackweddings.com/films/
(which is, hands down, my favorite wedding film company).  Something about this song just makes me happy and sad all in one.. They also do an INCREDIBLE cover of "You're the one I want"...  ENJOY!

Leather and Sequins

I love the contrast of pairing masculine and feminine clothes together--the idea of wearing a pretty, ethereal top with some tough, rugged leather boots sounds so unexpected, yet so sexy.

I have newly become a fan of Allsaints Clothing.  From the outside, the store looks more like a rustic warehouse than a secret harbor for glitter-- do not be fooled! -

Some of the most incredible sequin tops, dresses and skirts live here.  Not to mention, this store is engulfed in exquisite leather- all of which is amazing!

However, staying true to the 'glitter girl' that I am-- these dresses had me at 'hello'

To my dismay, they had shipped these beautifully crafted pieces to their final destination, "web sale." Let's cross our fingers and hope Google can help me get my search-on!

So, here is to watching my piggy bank dwindle, my leather collection expand, and making my life a bit more glittery!

Guns and Moses

I recently returned from a two week excursion in Israel.   It was an incredible experience and I am so thankful I got the chance to visit such a beautiful and spiritual country-- it also allowed for a lot of self (and life) reflection (hence why I am finally embarking on my first post).

My first Israeli dinning experience

The Israeli food was so flavorful, the weather was gorgeous (think more Mediterraneanan heat and less blow-dryer heat), the people were extremely welcoming (and extremely good looking), and amongst all the chaos of buses, hikes, rivers, tours, talking and such-- I found out some interesting things about myself....

1. I can get by with very little sleep.

2. I am absolutely not good at being on time (ok, ok.. I've known this one for many years now).

3. I have a remarkably large bladder (too soon for intimate details?)

4. When put in a "school-esque" setting I can and will revert back to being a 12-year old girl ("Who is going to sit by me on the bus" was a serious daily thought ).

5. I can be dirty.  Yes I prefer feeling fancy (even if that does sound snobby), but I can and did get dirty DAILY and loved every minute of it.

6.  The rest is yet to fully brew...
